Established in 1981 as one of New Zealand’s first stores in the style of a hardware supermarket, Placemakers operates 61 stores nationwide, employing about 2000 people and selling a huge range of DIY supplies and tools, including timber frames and trusses that it makes in its own plants in New Zealand.

Started by Fletcher Distribution Limited, Placemakers is backed by more than 100 years of experience. It sells over 74,000 product lines, including concrete, paint and plasterboard, timber frames and trusses, tools, and building supplies for kitchens, bathrooms, landscaping, gardening, flooring, heating, and insulation.
