The showy daisy-like flowers of this
low-growing shrub are available
in pink, purple, yellow, orange or
cream hues, with contrasting deep
purple or yellow centres. The petals
may be flat and narrow or resemble
fluted spoons. Some forms can
spread, so plant in pots or edged
garden beds. Deadhead regularly.

Brilliant white, pink, red, purple
or blue clusters of flowers appear
throughout the warmer months.
Position in full sun or part shade
and add plenty of organic matter.

these traditional plants dazzle in
the garden and when cut for the
vase. The white, pink, lavender or
bright red flowers are scented, and
look similar to carnations. A hardy
annual or short-lived perennial,
they grow well in pots and borders.
Traditional impatiens (busy lizzie)
love shade, while New Guinea
impatiens prefer semi-shaded
positions. For sunny areas, try
SunPatiens. They have single or
semi-double rose-like blooms in
pink, purple, red, coral or white.
Enrich the soil with organic
matter and compost.

Plant in sun or partial shade in
well-drained soil. Deadhead
regularly to prolong flowering.
